Lithne is an open-source hardware electronics development platform inspired by the popular Arduino framework. Lithne is specifically created for the design and development of wireless lighting applications and installations.
The Lithne board features two Atmel XMega processors and an XBee module. It offers designers the ability to wirelessly upload their sketches, without the need to leave the convenient Arduino Environment1. It also allows the user to connect more sensors and actuators than on the Arduino Uno; it offers 16 directly accessible digital I/O ports as well as 16 directly accessible analog inputs. Different libraries and shields are in development to easily expand the possibilities of this board to make it more accessible for the design of lighting applications.
Quick Start provides an overview of the different thing you need to set up the Lithne. More specific information about the Hardware, Software and Libraries can be found on the other pages of this website. When you have questions about the Lithne or want to contribute to the development, let us know.
1 The Lithne does require an improved version of the Arduino Environment, the Arduino Lithne IDE can be downloaded from the Software page.
